Buffalo High School Music Department

Each year around 500 (30%) of the students at Buffalo High School study music. There are three bands, three choirs, three orchestras, two chamber string ensembles, three jazz ensembles and two vocal jazz/chamber choirs that rehearse throughout the year, as well as guitar, music production, and CIS Music Theory & History.

BHS consistently has students in All State Ensembles. Our summer marching band, “The HERD,” represents our school and community in parades throughout Minnesota each summer. The BHS Classical Music Listening Team makes it to the state tournament nearly every year. This is an active music department where students and teachers alike share a joy of music and a love of performing!
